Cracked, unsightly pool coping

Problem:  Pool coping was cracked and unsightly.  Owner wanted an attractive non-skid coating that was not “rough” to the feel that was easy to clean and maintain.   Owner also wanted a Jacuzzi spa that was “slippery and smooth” not rough like the existing plaster finish.

Solution:  Prepare the pool coping.  Saw cut and install control/expansion joints to eliminate future cracking.  Install primer and base coat of NCS 6000 to resolve cracking.  Install Amerilyte color coat, sand and apply SLR clear sealer.  Prepare, prime and install NCS 6000 polyurea coating in the spa for a slippery, smooth feel with virtually no maintenance.

Problem:  The Estates at Rancho Mirage had a pool deck with failed concrete, sealant at expansion joints that were cracking and falling apart, as well as a coating that needed patching and repairs.

Solution:  New concrete was poured in one location, cracks were repaired, knockdown texture to match existing applied to various locations.  A new seal coat was applied to the entire pool deck with an accent color at the coping for safety.

Numerous and difficult waterproofing issues

Problem: The downtown San Diego YWCA had numerous leaks from a courtyard deck above the main ballroom.  The turn of the century glass block ceiling hot mop installation had failed.  Numerous repairs, incorrect drain installations and other issues required a complete re-hab and repair with a new waterproof system.

Solution:  Remove and re-install drains.  Prepare and re-seal around glass block.  Install a new MerKote Weather Deck system with sloping.  Install Elastomeric waterproofing over the fire brick walls.  Epoxy fill the glass block and install NCS SLR sealer over glass block ceiling.

Epoxy floor systems – attractive and functional

Problem:  Customer wanted an epoxy floor with an integral coved base and a “thick” commercial application- just like you might see in an operating room or hospital. They were tired of the “weak looking” epoxy floors used by our competitors.

Solution: Dexotex 100% color chip epoxy floor with VC primer 100 for hydrostatic pressure. Installed with an industrial coved base for ease of use and inspected by Dexotex for a full 5 year manufacturer backed warranty.
